Start your Voyage - Apply Now Get to Know the Opportunity:Voya is seeking a highly motivated and skilled Tech Lead / Java Developer with Mobile experience to join our dynamic team. As a Tech Lead, you will be responsible end to end design, development, testing and implementation for the Digital Portfolio. Delivery includes Architecture, Design, Technical Risk Management, Incident, Problem & Change Management, and performance management. Guides Application Systems solutions design through the life cycle of a set of work. The Contributions You'll Make:

• Ensures proper coordination of software application design, development, testing, quality assurance, configuration, installation, and support to ensure smooth, stable, and timely implementation of work requests and issue resolution.
• Hands on coding/development for front end digital applications (including mobile app) and back-end JAVA batch applications.
• Provides technical and application portfolio risk management.
• Has accountability for the technical delivery of work for a defined portfolio.
• Ensure delivery and planning of extensive application development and maintenance.
• Partner with architects and shared services teams to ensure Voya standards, software development practices, and compliant designs are met.
• Identify opportunities for new services, continuous improvement, and cost reduction and manage related change requests.
• Manages the day-to-day operations (e.g. application maintenance, stability, innovation, development, incident, change & problem management)
• Ensure compliance with Voya policy and SLAs.
• Review performance results and determine when application maintenance support levels need to be changed.
• Designing and developing high-volume, low-latency applications for mission-critical systems and delivering high-availability and performance.
• Writing well designed, testable, efficient code.
• Support continuous improvement by investigating alternatives and technologies and presenting these for architectural review.
• Experience with UI/UX design principles, version control systems, API development and integration, cross platform development and performance optimization.Minimum Knowledge & Experience
  • 8+ years of software engineering and development with the ability to code in Java, J2EE, Java API & JavaScript
  • 5 years in technical leadership, supporting Digital Retirement Services Digital Portfolio
  • Experienced developing with mobile frameworks (React Native).
  • Experience with SQL, Linux, Windows, Cloud, Oracle.
  • Demonstrated expertise working across multiple platforms/technologies.
  • Experience with business analysis within a Digital Portfolio.
  • Bachelor's Degree or equivalent in Computer Science, MIS, Engineering or a directly related field, Master's Degree preferred.Technical Knowledge in the following areas is critical:
    • Cloud Technologies
    • App and Web Servers
    • Web Technologies - Java, JSP, Servlet, Java API, HTML, Java script, Maven, C#, .NET, ASP .NET Web services
    • Framework - Struts, Spring MVC, EJB, CCF

    • Security tool - Veracode
    • Monitoring tools
    • Database - Oracle, SQL server

The below annual base salary range reflects the expected hiring range(s) for this position in the location(s) listed.
